CBC Season Preview

“Connecting the audience to our stories and brand.”


While working at the CBC I was able to do the art direction and design of their upfront creative for the 2016-2017 Season. This Season Preview creative is based around the idea of an "invisibile line" which aligns all of the circles to the word mark and pattern. The circles are a metaphor for all the different shows and content that the CBC provides to millions of Canadians and with this celebratory colour scheme and playfulness of the art direction it was a way for the CBC to connect to its audience better.

Challenge
Develop a concept and art direction for CBC’s upfront / season preview event. Create an identity and design system to be used in event signing, motion promotions and printed material.

Outcome
Design system was created and inspired many of CBC rebranding initiatives. Marked the launch of the new CBC and provided a professional and celebratory look and feel for CBC’s programming. System was easily used and transitioned on to printed materials, motion elements and event signage for the upfront event.
